At Bellwether, and as a Partner and Vice President at other leading GOP research firms, Chris has conducted polling in every state and for campaigns at all levels. Her work has taken her to the Philippines, Guam, and Hawaii for on-site research.
Her public affairs expertise centers on energy and the environment, including national messaging work for American Clean Skies.
She has been a political commentator for MSNBC, Fox, NPR, CNN, and served as a 2004 election night analyst for the BBC.
Chris received her B.A. from Indiana University and her M.A. from Georgetown University, completing her master’s thesis on “The Politics of Suburban Sprawl.”
She is a member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR).
Kara Douma, Senior Consultant
Kara has a wide range of experience in survey and public policy research for statewide trade and professional organizations, state and local governments, universities and colleges, hospitals and healthcare organizations, and public school districts.
She also directed the polling for the Michigan Senate Republican Campaign Committee during two election cycles.
Kara earned a B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University and is a M.P.A degree candidate. Her academic background includes courses in survey methodology, research methods, and statistics.
